Federal Way’s northwest quarter shares a shoreline, a hill and a road with Browns Point — the county line between them is a formality the truck crosses several times a day. That makes 98023 the closest coverage on the map after the point itself: Dash Point’s beach-community streets, the Lakota and Adelaide neighborhoods behind them, and Twin Lakes around the golf course all sit inside a ten-minute drive from Fairwood Boulevard.
The Dash Point side of 98023 is older beach-community housing — cottages that grew laundry rooms by improvisation, with plumbing and venting as creative as the carpentry, and salt on everything within a block of the water. Behind the hill, the 70s and 80s split-levels of Lakota and Adelaide put the laundry mid-house and the dryer vent on a twenty-foot wander through framing.
